Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga

✨ Welcome

I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone. This class offers gentle stretches and movement, breathwork, and relaxation techniques to ease tension, build confidence, mobility and calm the mind.

What to Expect

  • Easy-to-follow movements, all from the support of a chair or wheelchair

  • Breathing practices to help you relax and focus

  • Gentle stretches to improve flexibility and ease stiff joints

  • A calm, welcoming space where you can truly unwind

  • A guided meditation at the end of each session

  • Tea and biscuits afterwards, with time to chat and connect with new friends

Who This Class Is For

  • Anyone who would like to try chair yoga

  • People with limited mobility or balance challenges

  • Those recovering from illness or injury

  • Anyone who finds floor-based yoga uncomfortable or inaccessible

  • Students who want to move mindfully in a safe, supportive way

Practical Details

  • 📍Location: The Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot

  • 🗓 When: Wednesdays 6:30-8pm

  • 💷 Cost: £10 (cash in class or BACS payment)

  • Wear something comfortable and stay for a cuppa and chat after class.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga

✨ Welcome

Yin Yoga is a slow, soothing practice designed to release tension and calm the nervous system. With longer holds in floor-based poses, you’ll create space in the body and find stillness for the mind.

​What to Expect

  • Gentle, floor-based stretches held for 2–5 minutes

  • A calming atmosphere with soft lighting, gentle sound, and props for support

  • Time to rest deeply and recharge your energy

  • Space to explore mindfulness, breathwork, and self-compassion

Who This Class Is For

  • Anyone seeking calm, balance, and deep relaxation

  • Beginners and experienced yogis alike

  • People dealing with stress, anxiety, or busy minds

  • Particularly supportive for neurodiverse souls

  • Students who want a restful, nurturing practice

Practical Details

  • 📍 Location: The Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot

  • 🗓 When: Wednesdays 6:30-8pm

  • 💷 Cost: £14 per session (or £60 for 5 consecutive classes)

  • Bring a yoga mat and wear comfy layers. All other props provided

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga​

✨ Welcome

Gentle Yoga blends mindful movement, breathwork, and relaxation to support your body and mind. Classes are accessible for beginners and offer a slower pace with plenty of options.

What to Expect

  • Simple, flowing movements to ease stiffness

  • Breathing practices to support calm and focus

  • Gentle stretches to build strength and flexibility

  • Relaxation time to finish each class with peace and ease

Who This Class Is For

  • Beginners and long time yoga enthusiasts

  • Anyone seeking a calmer, more accessible approach 

  • Students seeking tools to support mental wellbeing

  • People who want to stretch, breathe, and relax without pressure

Practical Details

  • 📍 Location: The Courtenay Centre

  • 🗓 When:Fridays 9:30-11am

  • 💷 Cost: £14 per class / £60 block pass

  • Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes

Zen Zone 

The Zen Zone

✨ Welcome

Zen Zone is a fun and calming yoga club for young people aged 10–14. Each week we explore movement, breathing, mindfulness, and relaxation — helping tweens and teens feel confident, calm, and connected.

  • Yoga sequences designed for growing bodies

  • Breathing practices to manage stress and big feelings

  • Fun games, teamwork, and mindful moments

  • Relaxation time to reset after the school day

Who This Class Is For

  • Children aged 10–14

  • Young people navigating the move from primary to secondary

  • Tweens & teens needing tools to manage stress, anxiety, or busyness

  • Anyone wanting a fun, supportive, and inclusive club

Practical Details

  • 📍 Location: The Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot

  • 🗓 When: Wednesdays 5-6pm (term time)

  • 💷 Cost: £10 per session, payable half-termly upon booking

  • Parents/ adults can stay for a cuppa and chat 5-6pm
